W R Johns has a long-term interest, and publication record, in radiative and convective heat transfer to and from gases. For example, he developed or a widely-used instrument for measuring gas temperature. He also has worked on relevant statistics. Whilst Heamair/Haemaflow is a higher priority, publications in the area are planned.
